Camp Ålfjorden

A sanctuary where you can be active and rest. Something that is possible in the idyllic surroundings near the sea, water, islets and river outlets. Close by, the Fjonelva flows from Vigdarvatnet into the beautiful Fjonavika. A puddle at the bottom of the river has become a popular hot tub. The camp is beautifully located by the sea and it is a short drive to the fishing grounds in the Ålfjorden. A small camp, with the desire to lower the shoulders of the guests and facilitate physical activity on land and at sea.

Nils and Nina

Are the happy hosts of Camp Ålfjorden. In the early 70s, the first camping enthusiasts came to Fjon in Sveio, today Nils and Nina are the third generation to run the campsite. In 2019, a newly renovated camp opened, with a strong desire to give guests a unique experience within accommodation and closeness to nature. The whole family with three children, two hounds and a cat are committed and promoters of the camp.

Nils is the day-to-day leader at the camp and all things considered, with a strong commitment and interest in creating good conditions for the guests. Nina has started the company Rørse, which offers training in the camp area. Hu also works in Bu in Sunnhordland with a focus on work and housing in Sunnhordland.

They work purposefully for unique experiences in quiet surroundings close to nature for the guests.

Our focus area is to take care of the local community by collaborating with local actors in the Sunnhordland region, growing vegetables from our own garden for the guests and using recycled material in the development and construction of the camp. This is something that I work with in a concrete and targeted manner to achieve a sustainable travel destination. We collaborate with Visit Sunnhordland, which is a sustainable travel destination.

With us, we want you to be able to lower your shoulders in calm surroundings.

We offer kayak, canoe, stand up paddleboard and rowing boat hire.

Sveio has a rich hiking landscape. From our camp, you have the opportunity to drive to famous summit tours such as Trodlavassnipen, Emberlandsnipen, Hopsfjellet and Hodnafjellet. In addition, there are several tour options that leave from the camp. It should be easy to put on good hiking shoes and a rucksack with something good in it and experience the beautiful nature the camp has to offer around you.

Rørsle offers training in our area outdoors. A movement instructor ensures that you experience strength, balance and the joy of movement.
